How can I connect my domain name with my Pixpa website?

To use your existing domain name with Pixpa, you will need to change the DNS settings of your domain to redirect your existing domain name to your Pixpa website. Many domain registrars allow you log on to their web sites and enter your new name server information through an online form. If not, then you would need to contact your domain name registrar and request them to do these changes for you.

There are two ways to connect your domain name to your pixpa website:

1. If you want to continue your current email services / hosting services or want to use Google Apps for your emails and only want to host your Portfolio website on Pixpa:

Make changes to your domain's DNS records using the CNAME method:

Create a CNAME - www.yourdomain.com and point it to yoursite.pixpasites.com.

Create a forwarder for http://yourdomain.com and point it to www.yourdomain.com

2. If you want to create email forwarders using Pixpa:

Provide the following information to your domain registrar to connect your domain name with your Pixpa portfolio website:

Primary name server:          NS1.INDIPIC.COM
Secondary name server:     NS2.INDIPIC.COM

Also, please remove any existing name servers from your DNS records. It usually takes 24-48 hours for your domain to point to Pixpa's name servers. You can check if your domain name has started pointing to Pixpa by going to www.who.is and checking the name server information for your domain.

GO LIVE REQUEST

Once you have made the DNS changes and your domain is pointing to Pixpa servers, you can then submit a Go Live request from your Easystudio dashboard. Please be patient - It can take up to 24 hours for forwarding and CNAME entries to propagate across the Internet.

Helpful Tips:

Before transferring an existing domain name from your current hosting provider, be sure to save all of the files you wish to keep to your computer.

This is not a registrar transfer. Your domain name registration will remain with your registrar, and you are still responsible for domain name fees and renewals with your current registrar.
